Vol. 129 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wheat Statistics.

asked the Taoiseach whether he is aware that the figures supplied by him for native wheat delivered to mills in each year from 1935 to 1950 do not correspond with the figures supplied to Deputy Vivion de Valera by the Minister for Agriculture (Official Debates, Volume 125, No. 10, column 1537) and whether he will explain the discrepancy.

I am aware of the differences referred to. They are due to the fact that the particulars of native wheat delivered to millers in each year from 1935-36 to 1950-51 supplied in reply to the Deputy's question on 30th January, 1952, represent total deliveries to flour millers, wheaten-meal millers and permit holders for conversion into flour and wheatemeal, whereas the figures supplied to Deputy de Valera on 25th April, 1951, by the Minister for Agriculture (Official Debates, Volume 125, No. 10, column 1537) referred to deliveries to flour millers only.
