Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Number of Persons Employed in Insurable Occupations.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the average number of persons employed weekly in occupations insurable under the Unemployment Insurance Acts in 1950 and 1951 as calculated from the net unemployment insurance income.

The average number of persons employed weekly during 1950 in occupations insurable under the Unemployment Insurance Acts as calculated from the net contribution income of the unemployment fund was 355,600.

The figures for 1951 are not yet available. If the Deputy will put down a question in about a month's time I shall be in a position to furnish them.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the average number of persons employed weekly, distinguishing between males and females, as derived from the net contribution income of the national health insurance fund in the years 1950 and 1951.

The average number of persons distinguishing between males and females employed in each week of 1950 in occupations insurable under the National Health Insurance Acts as estimated from the net contribution income was as follows:—

157,800

Total

489,800

The figures for 1951 are not yet available. If the Deputy will put down a question in about a month's time I shall be in a position to furnish them.
