Vol. 129 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Payments for American Goods.

asked the Minister for External Affairs whether the recent crux which has arisen between the Government and the United States Government is likely to affect the payment by the United States in respect of goods ordered or committed through E.C.A. or M.S.A. but not paid for before the 8th January, 1952; and, if so, if he will give particulars of the amounts involved and the dates upon which the procurement authorisation forms in respect of such goods were (a) first received by the Department of Finance and (b) transmitted to E.C.A. by his Department.

As the full amount of the loan and grant aid allotted to this country under the Economic Co-operation Acts, 1948-50 has been received, the answer to the first part of the Deputy's question is in the negative. The second part of the question does not, therefore, arise.
