Vol. 129 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes for County Wexford.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that there has been considerable delay in the provision of a proper water supply and sewerage scheme for Taghmon, County Wexford; and, if so, if he will state what the present position is in the case.

Revised plans and specification for a water supply scheme to serve Taghmon were received on the 13th December last and approved on the 28th ultimo. The submission by the sanitary authority of a bill of quantities is now awaited. The placing of an order for the required pipes and fittings was approved last July when general agreement on the outlines of the scheme had been reached.

The provision of a sewerage scheme must await the installation and satisfactory operation of the water scheme.
