Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring for division the Hemmingway estate, comprising 300 acres, at Ballynakill, Carbury, County Kildare; and, if so, with what result.

The Land Commission have inspected the lands of Ballynakill Upper and the question of acquisition is under consideration at present.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the Mangan estate at Kilpatrick, Carbury, County Kildare, for division among local uneconomic holders and landless men; and, if so, with what result.

The Land Commission considered the question of resuming Mr. Mangan's holding at Kilpatrick but decided to take no action in the matter. There is no congestion in the area.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission have considered the advisability of acquiring the Moran estate, Mitchelstowndown, County Limerick, for division amongst the uneconomic holders in the area and thus relieving the undoubted congestion obtaining there; and, if so, with what result.

The Land Commission considered acquiring this estate but decided to take no action in the matter. There is little or no congestion in the vicinity of the lands.
