Vol. 129 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Trade Treaty with Britain.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, in the course of his recent conferences with members of the British Government, he made any request for a revision of the Trade Treaty entered into with Great Britain on the 31st July, 1948; and, if so, if he will state the nature of the revisions proposed by him.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative and, therefore, the second part does not arise.

Is this not the Trade Agreement which the Minister for External Affairs described as an agreement which was strangling our foreign trade and, if so, why did not the Tánaiste seek to revise it? There is no reply.
