Vol. 129 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Mayo National School.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state what progress has been made towards the erection of a proposed national school at or near Ballyglass, County Mayo; and whether the site offered by Mr. Oats at Carrownageehy, Milltown, County Galway, has been inspected and considered suitable.

Agreement was reached with the manager regarding the question of the local aid to be provided towards the cost of the proposed new school. It is now understood that the site which the manager proposed to offer is not available and an alternative site will have to be obtained. The Department has no information concerning the site mentioned by the Deputy. When a suitable alternative site is offered the Department will arrange to have it inspected.
