Vol. 129 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballina House Purchase Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will now state the reason for the failure to reply to the application sent in January last from 25 tenants at Morrison Terrace, Ballina, to purchase their houses, in view of the fact that this purchase scheme was passed by the previous Government in November, 1950.

Since my reply to the Deputy on the 14th November, 1951, a special meeting of the Ballina Urban District Council was held on the 27th November, 1951, at which the council decided to cancel the present sale schemes and to put forward certain revised proposals for consideration. These proposals which are of a general nature have been received and are being examined.
