Vol. 129 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mental Hospital Services.

asked the Minister for Health if, in view of the rising burden of the rates on local authorities, he will consider the financing of the entire mental hospital services in the Republic from central funds.

As mentioned in reply to a parliamentary question yesterday, I do not intend to introduce proposals for the amendment of the Health Services (Financial Provisions) Act, 1947, to relieve local authorities of the cost of health services to a greater extent than is provided in that Act.
