Vol. 129 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tuberculosis Services Report.

asked the Minister for Health if he had had an opportunity of studying the findings and recommendations made following a recent survey of the Dublin Corporation tuberculosis services by a Danish expert on these matters and whether he is prepared (1) to permit the publication of this report, or (2) to make it available in the Oireachtas Library; further, if he will state whether steps are to be taken to implement the recommendations contained in the report.

A copy of the report furnished by the expert mentioned to the Dublin Corporation has been received and examined in my Department.

The decision in regard to the publication of the report is one for the Dublin Corporation which engaged the services of the expert in question.

In regard to the last part of the question there have been several discussions between representatives of the corporation and officers of my Department and following these discussions certain recommendations have already been implemented, arrangements are in train for implementing certain other recommendations and the remaining recommendations are under active consideration.

Does the Minister intend to ask the Dublin Corporation to publish the report?
