Vol. 129 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gardaí Stations—Flagpoles.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will have erected on or at all Gardaí stations suitable flagpoles for the display of the National Flag on appropriate occasions.

Mr. Boland

The answer is in the negative. I do not propose to depart from the practice, which has obtained for the past 30 years, of flying the National Flag only at a limited number of the more important Government buildings, including some of the more important Gardaí stations.

May we take it then that the National Flag will not be displayed other than in the cities?

Mr. Boland

At the more important buildings.

They are confined to the cities, unfortunately.
