Vol. 130 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Damage to County Dublin Gardens.

asked the Minister for Justice what steps he proposes to take to prevent damage to gardens in the Walkinstown area by horses owned by the itinerant class.

Mr. Boland

The Garda Síochána are doing all they can to deal with this matter. Numerous prosecutions have been insituted for allowing horses to wander on the roads and in a number of cases the horses have been impounded. While these efforts have no doubt curbed the activities of the vagrants they have not succeeded in stopping the damage altogether. No doubt the deputy will appreciate, however, the difficulty of enforcing the law against vagrants.
