Vol. 130 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cleaning of Tipperary River.

asked the Minister for Local Government if a scheme was submitted to his Department by the North Tipperary County Council under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, 1949, for the cleaning of the Kilcommon Bilboe river at Kilcommon, County Tipperary; and, if so, if he will state what was the report of the engineer who made the survey of the river and what was the approximate cost of such survey.

A proposal for the carrying out of work on the river at Kilcommon was submitted as part of the 1950-51 programme. A survey of the river was requested. It is understood that a survey was carried out at a cost of about £400 and that on consideration of the report the local authority decided not to proceed with the proposal. A copy of the report was not furnished to my Department.
