Vol. 130 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cavan Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether he has received proposals and plans for the provision of a new water supply and service from Cavan Urban Council; and, if so, when he expects to be in a position to sanction the proposed scheme.

Cavan Urban District Council submitted a preliminary report, plans and estimate for the provision of a supplementary water supply from a new source. The proposals required detailed examination in a number of respects, and they have still to be considered with reference to the possibility and comparative cost of improving the supply from the existing sources. The submission of a report from the consulting engineer on these latter aspects was requested on 13th February last and is now awaited.
