Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Aer Rianta Teóranta.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he will state in regard to Aer Rianta Teóranta (1) the names and addresses of the directors, (2) the functions and activities of the company, (3) the capital and how it is provided, and (4) the number of planes owned or leased by it.

(1) The present directors of Aer Rianta Teóranta are:—

(2) The objects for which the company was established are set out in the memorandum of association. The present functions and activities are to establish, maintain and work lines of aerial conveyances between places in the State and between the State and other countries by means of Aer Lingus Teóranta; to carry on and foster the business and pursuit of aviation in all its forms, both within and without Ireland; and to carry on the management of Dublin Airport as my agent.

(3) The authorised capital of the company, which is fully paid up, is £2,000,000, divided into shares of £1 each. With the exception of a few qualifying shares held by directors, all the capital has been provided by the Minister for Finance from sums advanced out of the Central Fund.

(4) The company does not at present own or lease any aircraft.
