Vol. 130 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Social Welfare (Insurance) Bill, 1951.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare whether it is the intention that payments will be made under the Social Welfare (Insurance) Bill, 1951, in respect of disablement benefits and the provision of training facilities for persons disabled by polio-myelitis.

There is no special provision in the Social Welfare (Insurance) Bill, 1951, for persons disabled by polio-myelitis. If such persons are insured, however, they will in the ordinary course, be entitled to disability benefit if they fulfil the contribution conditions.
