asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the amount of the grant given by his Department for the repair and improvement of the road between Castlemaine and Annascaul, County Kerry, and the amount of money provided by Kerry County Council for the same work on the road.

Proposals to absorb the main road improvement grant allocated to the Kerry County Council from the Road Fund in respect of the current financial year have only recently been received and are being examined by my technical advisers. The Deputy will be notified of any approval which may be given to grants for the works mentioned by him and of any provision from the rates for the upkeep of the Castlemaine-Annascaul road in the current year.
