Vol. 131 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Housing.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is in a position to state when the village houses at Newtown Shandrum, County Cork, will be erected.

I am not in a position to state when the houses referred to will be erected. Until the position in regard to a water supply for the proposed housing scheme is clarified by the council it will not be possible to decide finally on the house plan to be used and the lay-out to be adopted for this scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government when the village houses at Ballydesmond, County Cork, will be erected.

Contract documents recently submitted to my Department by the county council for this group of houses have been approved, and I understand that the council intend to advertise at once for tenders. The date by which the houses will be erected will depend on the date and terms of the contract.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is in a position to state when the village type houses at Kiskeam village, County Cork, will be erected.

As proposals for the acceptance of a tender for the erection of houses at Kiskeam have not yet been submitted by Cork County Council for my consideration I am not in a position to state when the houses will be erected.
