Vol. 131 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Erection of Bridge in Wexford.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the reason for the delay in commencing the building of a new bridge at Wexford town, and if he will urge the Wexford County Council to expedite the work.

I understand that the preparation of plans for this work is proceeding expeditiously.

Can the Minister say if these plans have at this stage to be submitted to the Department for final approval?

They are not ready for submission and I understand the county manager has given the local bodies concerned a rough estimate of the time that will be necessary before the plans are ready.

Do the plans have to be submitted to the Department?

I am not sure on that matter but, if it is necessary, there will be no delay when that stage is reached.
