Vol. 131 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state when it is proposed to vest the Conyngham estate, West Donegal, in the tenant purchasers.

The former estates of the Marquis of Conyngham, comprising over 1,800 holdings, are under examination with a view to vesting. There are serious obstacles to be overcome before the majority of the holdings can be vested and the proceedings in regard to these cases are likely to be protracted. The less difficult cases, numbering about one-fourth of the total number, are in one sector of the estates and it is hoped to vest them within the next 12 months.
