Vol. 131 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Louth Turf Cutting Plans.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that Louth County Council has abandoned its plans to cut turf this year after having carried out preliminary work repairing bog roads; and, further, that the abandoning of the turf-cutting scheme by this council has left a number of men out of work; and, if so, if he will request the council to proceed with the scheme.

The county council have decided for a number of reasons not to cut turf in the 1952 season and I do not propose to request the council to alter their decision.
