Vol. 131 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hollyford Bus Service.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will request Córas Iompair Éireann to provide a bus service for the village of Hollyford, County Tipperary, and if Córas Iompair Éireann refuse to provide this service if he will license a private bus owner to do so as this is a remote area and requires a bus service on at least one day per week.

As I indicated in reply to a similar question from the Deputy on 21st November last, the responsibility for making provision to meet the demand for transport services has been placed by the Transport Act, 1950 on the board of Córas Iompair Éireann. I suggest that the Deputy should address his request direct to Córas Iompair Éireann.
