Vol. 132 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Creamery Milk Prices.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will indicate when he hopes to get a report concerning creamery milk prices from the commission investigating the matter and if he intends to request an interim report and give an interim increase.

Mr. Walsh

As regards the first part of the Deputy's question I would refer him to the reply which I gave to Deputy Finucane on the 29th April, 1952. As to the second part of the question I do not propose to ask the Milk Production Costs Committee to furnish an interim report for the reason that as it is necessary that the investigation should be carried out over a full period of 12 months an interim report would be of no value in determining the true cost of milk production.
