Issue of Writs for By-Elections.

I move:—

That the Ceann Comhairle direct the Clerk of the Dáil to issue his writ for the election of a member to fill the vacancy which has occurred in the membership of the present Dáil consequent on the death of Deputy Mrs. Bridget Mary Redmond a member for the county constituency of Waterford.

Agreed.

Tairgim:—

That the Ceann Comhairle direct the Clerk of the Dáil to issue his writ for the election of a member to fill the vacancy which has occurred in the membership of the present Dáil consequent on the death of Deputy Dan Bourke a member for the county constituency of East Limerick.

Agreed.

Tairgim:—

That the Ceann Comhairle direct the Clerk of the Dáil to issue his writ for the election of a member to fill the vacancy which has occurred in the membership of the present Dáil consequent on the death of Deputy Patrick J. Ruttledge a member for the county constituency of North Mayo.

Agreed.

I hope that is the best day's work that we have done for a long time.

You said that once before and it did not come off.

Could we have any indication of what the date of the polling day is likely to be?

That is a matter for determination by the local returning officer.

The lawyer does not know.

We have a nice lawyer now replying.
