Vol. 132 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Proposals for Hospitals in Cork.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state (1) the number of proposals for general maternity and fever hospitals proposed to be built in Cork City or its suburbs for the past 20 years; (2) the total area of land purchased, and the price paid for it; (3) the number of these sites which were afterwards condemned as unsuitable and the price realised for the land disposed of, and (4) the total fees paid to architects, quantity surveyors and consultants for plans, surveys, etc., which were afterwards scrapped.

The information required by the Deputy is not readily available in my Department and in any case it would take a very considerable time to prepare. I do not feel that the compilation of the material required by the Deputy would be worth the time and labour involved.
