Vol. 132 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballyduff Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that the agreement entered into between the Kerry County Council and the Ballyduff Creamery Company in connection with the supply of water to Ballyduff village, County Kerry, is to terminate in the near future; and, if so, if he will now state what steps the local authority is taking to provide the residents of the district with an alternative supply.

I am aware of the position as stated by the Deputy in the first part of his question. A proposal for an alternative supply was discussed by the council at their meeting on the 12th May last but a decision was deferred pending a final technical report. I have also been informed that the county secretary has written to the society requesting that they extend the existing agreement for a short period.
