asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state when the Electricity Supply Board intend to extend the rural electrification scheme to the parish of Milltown, County Kerry.

The Electricity Supply Board inform me that the Milltown rural area has been considered for development under the rural electrification scheme on a number of occasions, the latest occasion being in April of this year, but so far it has not been successful as its financial return does not compare favourably with that of other areas. The board state that it is not possible at this stage to say when supply may be extended to the area.
