Vol. 132 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Housing Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will indicate if the Cork Corporation submitted sketch plans for 352 houses and nine shop dwellings for the Churchfield scheme, Gurranebraher, to his Department on 27th February, 1952; whether these plans have been approved; and, if not, if he will have their approval expedited.

Plans for the erection of 352 houses and nine shop dwellings at Churchfield, Gurranebraher, were submitted to my Department by Cork Corporation on 27th February last. The plans were generally approved on 5th June, subject to suggested revisions of some of the house plans and further consideration of the layout and of the proposed sewerage system. Reports on these matters were received from the corporation on the 13th and 16th instant and will be examined without delay.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will indicate whether the Cork Corporation submitted sketch plans for 24 houses for Pouladuff scheme No. 1 to his Department on 10th April, 1952; whether these plans have been approved; and, if not, if he will have their approval expedited.

Plans for a proposed scheme of 24 houses at Pouladuff Road, which were submitted to my Department by Cork Corporation on the 10th April, have not yet been approved. The technical aspects of the corporation's proposals will be discussed next week with the Cork City architect and a decision on the proposals will be issued to the corporation as soon as possible.
