asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that the Limerick City Council are awaiting sanction to a scheme that was submitted to his Department on the 21st March, 1952, for repairs to a serious breach in the embankment on the Shannon, at Corbally, Limerick, which was caused by the storm of December, 1951, and resulted in serious flooding over a wide area of land, and that this work can only be successfully carried out when the Shannon waters are low, a condition which will not prevail after September, and if, owing to the urgency of the matter, he will give sanction to the scheme without delay.
