asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that passenger trains on the Stranorlar-Killybegs portion of the County Donegal railways have been discontinued as from Monday, 21st July, 1952, and that this is regarded by the public as a first step towards the closing of this branch line, and, if so, whether he will take steps to have the matter investigated with a view to ascertaining if this precipitate action is justified.

I have had inquiries made and have been informed by the County Donegal Railways Joint Committee that there has been no discontinuance of passenger train services on this line. Goods train services were temporarily withdrawn on 21st July but were restored on 31st July.
