Vol. 135 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Use of Granite for Housing.

asked the Minister for Local Government if, in view of the slackness in the granite industry, he will take steps to ensure that houses built by the Dublin County Council have granite window-sills to the full extent allowed by the regulations of his Department.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply to his question of the 8th November, 1951, in which I explained the policy on the use of granite in local authority housing schemes. It is primarily a matter for the Dublin County Council to determine how far they can use granite window-sills for their houses to good advantage and with due economy.
