Vol. 135 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballyconnell Telephone Service.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether his attention has been drawn to the inadequacy of the telephone service to Ballyconnell, County Cavan, and to the grave inconvenience thereby caused to the people of this district; and, if so, whether he will state what steps it is proposed to take to remedy the position, and when it is proposed to take such steps.

There is at times heavy delay on telephone calls to and from Ballyconnell because the existing line between Ballyconnell and Belturbet is inadequate for the traffic. An additional circuit for this route is included in the trunk programme for the current financial year.
