Vol. 135 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kildare Dispensary.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state whether proposals have been received in his Department from the Kildare County Council regarding the provision of a doctor's residence and dispensary at Kilcullen, County Kildare; and, if so, if he will state how the matter now stands.

Proposals relating to the provision of a doctor's residence and a dispensary at Kilcullen have been received in my Department. With regard to the dispensary, I have suggested to the local authority that accommodation on the scale set out in the sample lay outs for rural dispensaries prepared in my Department should be adequate. If this is agreed, the planning and erection of the dispensary can proceed without further reference of documents to my Department. In the case of the dispensary residence, I have been concerned at the very high cost of such buildings and I am reviewing the matter generally at present. I hope to be in a position to convey my views on the proposed Kilcullen residence to the Kildare County Council shortly.
