Vol. 135 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - West Cork Water Supply Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether the Cork County Council have submitted for approval a number of schemes for water supply in various villages in the West Cork health district; and, if so, if he will indicate the present position in each case.

Contract documents have been approved for the provision of piped water supply schemes for Leap-Glandore-Union Hall, Rosscarbery, Bantry (Improvement), Timoleague-Courtmacsherry, Glengariff and Goleen. Tenders cannot, however, be invited until questions relating to the acquisition of lands and water rights have been clarified.

In addition, supplies for Baltimore and Ardgroom are under consideration. In the case of the former, the submission of the results of investigations for a bore-hole source is awaited. Preliminary plans for the latter have been approved in principle.
