Vol. 135 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Taghmon Water Supply Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government if proposals have been received in his Department for a water supply scheme in Taghmon, County Wexford, for which there is urgent need; and, if so, if he will state what steps are being taken to have such a scheme sanctioned.

As indicated in my reply to the Deputy's question of the 5th June last contract documents for this scheme have been approved.

I understand, however, that the sanitary authority are about to institute proceedings for the compulsory acquisition of the necessary water rights. Commencement of work on the scheme must await the outcome of these proceedings.
