asked the Minister for Education if he will state in respect of each vocational committee the number of members thereof and the number of such members that must be members of any, and, if so, of what local authority; and the number of meetings held by each such committee in the year 1952.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vocational Committee Members.
The constitution of vocational education committees is regulated by Section 8 of the Vocational Education Act, 1930.
Every committee must consist of 14 members, of whom not less than five and not more than eight must be members of the council of the county borough, of the scheduled urban district or of the county concerned, with the addition, in the case of county committees, of representatives of urban districts included in the county area. This additional representation consists of two members each where there are not more than four such urban districts and one member each where there are more than four. Such additional representatives may be councillors or not as desired.
