Vol. 136 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork National School.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state when it is proposed to advertise for tenders to build a new national school at Clondulane, Fermoy.

The Commissioners of Public Works are having the working drawings and specification for this new schoolprepared. While I am unable to say with certainty when tenders for the building of the school will be invited, I am informed by the commissioners that priority is being given to the case and that tenders will be invited at the earliest possible date.

I may add that there was unavoidable delay in bringing the necessary preliminary arrangements to a conclusion due to the need for making investigations with regard to the provision of an adequate water-supply for sanitation purposes. I am glad to be able to inform the Deputy that a well sunk within the school site will provide the requisite water supply.
