Vol. 136 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Acquisition and Division.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the present position regarding the acquisition by the Land Commission of the Comyn estate, Milltown Dysart, County Roscommon.

Proceedings were instituted for the acquisition of this estate, but an objection to acquisition was allowed.

In view of the fact that these lands have been set all the time, can the Minister give the House the reason why no decision has been come to by the Land Commission?

These lands are set to a "bookie"— rancher: a nice combination.

The point is that the Deputy must know that these cases are heard by the Land Commission. I must assume that, having regard to their statutory obligations, they take all these matters into consideration. An objection was lodged and heard so recently as 26th July, 1951.

I tell the Minister that the lands are set all the time.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the present position regarding the acquisition by the Land Commission of the non-residential holding of the late Mr. Joseph Coen, Knockglass, Ballinameen, Boyle (Balfe estate).

An objection to the acquisition of this estate has been heard by the commissioners and judgment has been reserved for the present.

Is the Minister in a position to give the House any idea when the Land Commission intend to make known their decision?

I cannot say.

Is there any hope of its being made known in the near future?

I cannot say when the decision will be given.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the White farm (non-residential) situated at Brackloon, County Roscommon, for the purpose of division amongst deserving applicants; and, if so, with what result.

Proceedings are in progress for the acquisition of this estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring and sub-dividing the Colclough estate, Tintern, County Wexford; and, if so, with what result.

Proceedings have been instituted for the acquisition of portion of this estate and are well advanced.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state when the Land Commission propose to allocate the Kelly lands at Maddenstown, County Kildare.

Part of this estate was allotted recently. It is not possibleto indicate when the balance of the lands will be allotted.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state when it is proposed to divide the Dempsey lands at Donore, Caragh, County Kildare.
