I have received from the President of the Second Chamber of the Netherlands States General a copy of a resolution passed unanimously by that chamber on 11th February, 1953. The following is the text of the resolution:—
"The Chamber,
Having taken note of the Government's statement concerning the flood-disaster 1953,
Moved by the overwhelming charity and solidarity which were not only displayed by the Netherlands people itself but which have also come to us from beyond our frontiers as a manifestation of the unity of nations,
Expresses to all friendly Governments and nations the gratitude of the Netherlands people for the stimulating support of which it hopes to prove itself worthy, in the world's interest."
