Vol. 137 No. 1

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 4, 5, 8, 9, 10—all Votes—11, 14, 18 and 6. It is proposed to interrupt business at 9 p.m. to take No. 6. Private Deputies' business will be taken at 10 p.m. I understand that Deputy Sheldon has requested that motion No. 22 in Private Deputies' List be taken in conjunction with the Vote on Account, if the Government agrees to that course.

I take it that the decision, which is accepted, to facilitate Deputy Sheldon in regard to his motion will not in any way deflect the attention of the House from the main question to be debated on the Vote on Account and that is the disastrous state of the economy of this country?

The Deputy can "blah" as much as he likes.

He has not the least intention of following any red herrings introduced by your lordship.

I do not care whose red herrings you follow.

You would like me to follow some of them, would you not?
