Vol. 137 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fertilisers: Seaweed.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if, in view of the scarcity and high price of fertilisers; and, further, in view of the scarcity of suitable craft for the cutting and saving of seaweed, he will consider the subsidisation of the latter as a fertiliser for West Donegal.

I am not prepared to pay a subsidy on seaweed used as a fertiliser.

Would the Minister at least consider asking his colleague, the Minister for Industry and Commerce, to take the tariff of 20 per cent. off fertilisers?

That is a separate question.
