asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the number of officials, temporary and permanent, employed at the Limerick Employment Exchange in January, 1950, January, 1951, January, 1952, and January, 1953.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

The following is the statement.

THE NUMBER of officers, permanent and temporary, serving in the Employment Exchange. Limerick, at the beginning and end of the month of January in each of the years 1950, 1951, 1952 and 1953.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the number of registered unemployed at Limerick Employment Exchange in January, 1950, 1951, 1952 and 1953.

The number of persons registered at Limerick Employment Exchange on the last Saturday in January in the years mentioned by the Deputy were:—

28th January, 1950:

2,621.

27th January, 1951:

2,927.

26th January, 1952:

2,595.

31st January, 1953:

3,346.
