Vol. 137 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Limerick Regional Hospital.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state (1) the approximate date for the completion of the regional hospital in County Limerick; (2) the regional area it is proposed to serve, and (3) the nature of the authority that will be responsible for its management.

It is expected that the Limerick Regional Hospital will be completed in the spring of 1954. The regional area it is proposed to serve has not been finally determined but in addition to providing a general medical and surgical service for persons resident in Limerick County and County Borough it will provide special services for those areas and also, probably, for persons resident in County Clare and Tipperary North Riding.

The question of the authority to be responsible for the management of the hospital is being examined.
