Vol. 137 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Limerick Dispensaries Sites.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state (1) the names of places in County Limerick in respect of which proposals have been submitted by the county council for the acquisition of sites for new dispensaries; (2) the names and addresses of the landowners of these sites; (3) the area of land proposed to be acquired in each case and the amount of compensation proposed to be paid therefor, and (4) if he has issued his sanction to these proposals or if he proposes to do so.

On the 28th July last, I was informed by the Limerick County Council that it was proposed to replace 19 existing dispensaries in County Limerick by new buildings.

Since that date proposals have been submitted by the county councils for the acquisition of sites for new dispensaries at the following places:—Ballylanders, Doon, Tournafulla, Ballykenny and Athea. As the arrangements for the purchase of the sites in question have not been completed, I do not consider it would be fair to the parties concerned to give at this stage the information sought by the Deputy at (2) and (3).

None of these proposals has yet been sanctioned, and the question of the suitability of the site, and the proposed price in each case, is still under consideration in my Department.
