Vol. 137 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Public Telephone Request.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the resolution passed unanimously by the Offaly County Council requesting a public telephone for Cloghan, County Offaly, and the erection of a kiosk in the village, and of the great urgency of the matter; and, if so, if the kiosk will soon be erected.

Mr. Boland

The answer to the first part of the question is yes. There is already a public telephone in the post office at Cloghan. The use likely to be made of a telephone kiosk at Cloghan would not be sufficient to justify the provision of the facility.
