Vol. 138 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wicklow Bus Service.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware of the great hardship suffered by people residing in the area between Roundwood and Ashford by reason of the failure of C.I.E. to provide a bus service through the area, and if he will recommend the provision of such a service forthwith.

A private bus operator is licensed to provide a service on the route during the summer months. The responsibility for meeting the demandfor transport facilities generally rests on the board of C.I.E., and representations in regard to the adequacy of the transport facilities should be made direct to the board which, it may be assumed, will give them the fullest consideration.
