Vol. 138 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fishing Rights in Territorial Waters.

asked the Minister for Agriculture what, if any, steps are being taken by his Department to preserve our fishing rights in our territorial waters off the coast of Counties Derry, Antrim and Down.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary ensure that some foreign Power will not acquire statutory rights to these territorial waters of ours over which we are exercising no right at the moment?

The Deputy is aware that I do not administer fishery services in the places mentioned by him.

Can he give us any reason why, in view of the Act of 1920?

The reply to that supplementary is so obvious that I think it unnecessary to make it.
