Vol. 138 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Offaly Water and Sewerage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state if he will now give sanction to Offaly County Council to proceed with work on water and sewerage schemes for Cloghan, County Offaly, and thereason for the delay in giving such approval.

Cloghan water supply scheme is still in the design stage. The Department's recommendations on the contract documents submitted on the 24th April will be issued in the near future. There has been no delay in dealing with the matter.

Provision of a sewerage scheme cannot be undertaken until a piped water supply is available.
