Vol. 138 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Maintenance of Dublin Lanes.

asked the Minister for Local Government if, in the interests of the public health of the City of Dublin, he will make moneys available to the Dublin Corporation to concrete and drain lanes described as not in charge of the Dublin Corporation; and, further, if he will state the number of miles of lanes so described.

The only State source from which works of this nature could be assisted is the annual allocation from the employment schemes Vote. The Dublin Corporation has discretion to select the works to be undertaken with the aid of that allocation, and it is the practice to expend a portion of these moneys annually on the concreting of lanes.

I have no information as to the mileage of lanes within the city which are not in charge of the corporation.
