Vol. 139 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Ophthalmic Services.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state (a) the number of applicants in County Donegal who have availed of ophthalmic services and (b) the amount paid for travelling expenses to these applicants for the months of (i) February; (ii) March; (iii) April and (iv) May, 1953.

The number of applicants in County Donegal who availed of the ophthalmic service in the months ofFebruary, March, April and May of this year are two, 18, three and one, respectively. As the service was available at a number of centres in the county until 31st March last, the payment of travelling expenses in respect of the months of February and March does not arise. Travelling expenses have not been paid in respect of the months of April and May as applications for reimbursements have not been received from the insured persons concerned.
